Reporting Period for ASC Quality Reporting Program Web-Based Measures Ends
August 23, 2013
To fulfill 2013 reporting requirements
for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Quality Reporting (ASCQR) Program and avoid a
2 percent payment update reduction in calendar year 2015, ASCs must report two web-based measures August 23,
2013. CMS has extended the data entry deadline for submission due to technical difficulties with the Secure Portal.
The two web-based measures are ASC-6
(Safe Surgery Checklist Use) and ASC-7 (ASC Facility Volume Data on Selected
ASC Surgical Procedures). The measures must be reported during the July
1-August 15 time frame for services furnished between January 1, 2012 and
December 31, 2012.
Please be aware, an ASC must have an active security administrator to submit measures
ASC-6 and ASC-7. Registration information is available online through QualityNet.org.
If your ASC does not yet have an active security administrator, it is imperative that you complete and file
the paperwork immediately because of a high-volume of applications being
processed. You cannot submit the
web-based measures until a user ID and initial passcode for the My QualityNet
user site has been provided to you.
For more detailed portal
enrollment and login instructions, see the Secure QualityNet
Portal New User Enrollment Training (WMV-20 min.) and Section 5 of the QualityNet User Guide (PDF-4 MB).
Useful tips for reporting on ASC-6 and
ASC-7 are available online.
For gastroenterology, ASC-7 must be
reported for the following procedures:
43239, 43235, 43248, 43249, 43251,
44361, 45330, 45331, 45378, 45380, 45381, 45383, 45384, 45385
In addition to the web-based measures,
ASCs must also submit quality data codes on the
Form-CMS 1500 for measures ASC-1 through ASC-5.
