Hands-on Sessions (HO)
Hands-on Sessions will feature up to nine stations demonstrating diverse techniques and technologies within the topic area, using ex vivo pig stomachs and/or other available models.

Pre-Sessions Friday,
September 16th, 1:00 – 5:00 PM
Three pre-sessions offered on Friday afternoon will provide targeted education and training for specific audiences. These sessions are not included in the overall conference registration fee.

Advanced Capsule Endoscopy (SS)
Directors: Peter E. Legnani, MD; Elizabeth Rajan, MD, FASGE
Attendees will learn advanced skills in the use of capsule endoscopy for the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal disease, including obscure GI bleeding, Crohn’s Disease and other small bowel diseases. This session will use real-life clinical scenarios to help participants hone their skills in interpretation of capsule endoscopy findings and improving patient outcomes.

GI Nurses Workshop (SS and HO)
Directors: Michelle A. Anderson, MD; John A. Martin, MD, FASGE; Teri A. Derimanoczy, MSN, FNP-BC CGRN
This session will use lectures, discussion and hands-on training to focus on the role of nurses as part of the GI Team. Participants will have the opportunity to explore new equipment with the experts, including clips, stents, snares, and foreign body retrieval equipment.

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection
Director: Norio Fukami, MD, FASGE
Endoscopic submucosal dissection is a newer method to remove mucosa in GI tract. This hands-on session will offer a rare opportunity to observe and practice the latest techniques of ESD, which is new to the practice in United States. It will explore the pros and cons of different ESD knives, their use for each step in ESD, and allow participants to familiarize themselves with the concept for the clinical use and technique of ESD.
