The Michael V. Sivak, Jr., MD Endoscopic Research Endowment Fund was established in 2004 to honor the hard work, dedication and valuable contributions Michael Sivak, Jr., MD demonstrated throughout his tenure as Editor of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE)'s premier journal Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (GIE).
Dr. Sivak's firm belief that support of the GI endoscopic research and especially of young investigators is critical towards advancing progress in gastrointestinal endoscopy is one that ASGE wholeheartedly supports. The Michael V. Sivak, Jr. MD Endoscopic Research Endowment Fund provides an annual monetary award to an ASGE member to support a highly meritorious research project in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy. The ASGE Foundation recognizes this award as one of its highest honors.
