Dr. Vicari joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd. in 1997 and is now Managing Partner.  He also is the Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.  Dr. Vicari completed his GI Fellowship in gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and is Board Certified in Gastroenterology.  He currently serves Chair of the Practice Management Committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is a journal reviewer for the American Journal of Gastroenterology.  Dr. Vicari has presented numerous lectures and presentations to students, and residents and physicians both locally and nationally.

Jill Olmstead is an Adult Nurse Practitioner at Providence St. Joseph Health. She has practiced as an NP for over 15 years specializing in gastroenterology. Her practice includes evaluating and managing new patient GI consultations, follow-up visits and diagnostic Flexible sigmoidoscopies. Jill is credentialed as a certified coder, a clinical documentation improvement specialist and risk adjustment coder. Jill recently was inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and currently serves on ASGE’s Reimbursement Committee. She has been published in Gastroenterology Nursing, the Journal for the American Academy for Nurse Practitioners and the Journal for Nurse Practitioners.

Sarah Enslin, RPA -C

Sarah Enslin is a Physician Assistant at University of Rochester Medical Center. She received her degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and has over 10 years of experience as a practicing PA in GI. She is a lead Advanced Practice Provider for a large academically-based group within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division. In addition to administrative responsibilities, she has a busy clinical practice with a special interest in pancreaticobiliary disease & GI-oncology. She routinely lectures at the Rochester Institute of Technology Physician Assistant Program and is a preceptor for APP students from four colleges/universities. She serves on several national committees actively participates in clinical research trials and regularly presents at national meetings.

Vivek Kaul, MD, FASGE

Dr Vivek Kaul is the Segal-Watson Professor of Medicine and former Chief of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. His clinical, research and medical education efforts are focused in Therapeutic Endoscopy, Interventional Endoscopic Ultrasound, advanced ERCP and esophageal endotherapy for Barrett’s & Esophageal Cancer. He has specific expertise in complex interventional endoscopy, especially in the patient with GI-cancer. He co-directs the Developmental Endoscopy Lab at URMC, which is dedicated to education, training and innovation in endoscopy. He has extensive experience in collaborating with and mentoring subspecialty APPs in Gastroenterology/Hepatology.

Dr Kaul serves on several national committees with the ASGE and the ACG and is a past Governor of the ACG for northern NY. He is Chair of the ACG Innovation & Technology Committee. He is a reviewer for several journals, is a sought-after speaker and has authored several publications in the field of interventional endoscopy. He also serves on the WGO Endoscopy Committee and regularly lectures and shares his endoscopy expertise at centers in the USA and around the world.

Dr. Aaron Shiels joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates in 2004 and currently serves as Managing Partner. He is a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist. Dr. Shiels received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where he also completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship. He specializes in liver disease and disorders of the biliary system and pancreas. At the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, Dr. Shiels holds the title of Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine. Dr. Shiels is a member of the ASGE Reimbursement Committee. He previously served on the ASGE Health and Public Policy Committee.

Barbara gained her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Oregon State University, and her Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.  She became a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 2008.

She began her practice management career with Medical Management Inc.  She has had the opportunity to manage a wide variety of medical practices, including primary care, cardiology, orthopedics and gastroenterology.

For 10 years, she was the Director of Operations for a large integrated healthcare system in Portland and managed their 11 primary care offices and 2 urgent care centers.

In 2004, she joined Gastroenterology Specialists of Oregon a group of 18 GI physicians, and 6 APPs, with 3 locations each with an adjacent Endo Center. In September 2013, Gastroenterology Specialists of Oregon joined The Oregon Clinic which is the largest multi-specialty group in Oregon.
