Course Date: April 25-26, 2019

The Advanced ARIA course is a 1.5 day educational program providing participants an opportunity to hear from leaders in the field of gastroenterology about how changes in healthcare policy and insurance reform will affect patients, practitioners and industry partners, while highlighting our significant accomplishments and looking ahead to identify strategies to help improve patient care and job satisfaction in the future. .  The 2019 theme is “Innovation in Health Care”.   Innovation is defined simply as a new idea, device or method but is also viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs or existing market.  Registration for this course does not require Basic course attendance.

The ARIA Advanced Program is an advanced educational event created to educate and challenge our gastroenterology industry partners as well as offer a platform to share ideas with the overriding goal of improving patient care. The content is developed by leaders in the field of GI Endoscopy and will address how medical professionals and industry have worked together to create new medical devices and medications to solve medical problems, treat disease, and save lives.

But disease management is not the only problem that requires innovative strategies to improve patient care.  The Advanced ARIA Program will also explore how innovation in the way we deliver health care is crucial in a time when health care policies and economics are rapidly changing, how this will affect industry and what industry can do to be part of the solution.

There will be breakout sessions that focus on innovative methods of communicating with patients and how industry can interact with physicians as well as a live endoscopy case.  The course offers a variety of lectures, panel discussions, small group sessions and one-on-one time with our nationally recognized faculty.

Learning Objectives
  1. Describe the potential obstacles and how to overcome them, during development of a new device or medication.

  2. Identify key changes in health care policy, how these changes will affect patient care, physician practice, and the role of industry and what we can do to improve the delivery of health care within these constraints.

  3. Describe innovative changes in how health care professionals interact with patients and how industry can interact with physicians.
