2021 Senior Fellows (2nd and 3rd Year) Program

It is estimated that there are over 15,000 gastroenterologists and more than 2,000 individual GI groups in the United States today. At least 50% of GI providers are estimated to be employed by hospitals or other health care organizations. This course helps senior GI fellows consider the necessary questions as they enter the final chapters of their formal training:

  • What do the different work environments look like?
  • What opportunities and challenges do different job environments offer?
  • Will the present consolidation trends in GI practice continue?
  • Is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting hiring of new providers?
How can GI fellows obtain reliable answers to their questions about the GI practice environment – and what questions should one be asking in the first place?
