Colorectal cancer remains the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the U.S. The American Cancer Society estimates in the U.S. annually, there are 107,000 new cases of colon cancer and 46,000 new cases of rectal cancer.  This masterclass on colonoscopy will review trends of colorectal cancer risk patterns in various global regions, screening trends and advances in colonoscopy technologies. A review of accumulating evidence from studies of cancer registry data will highlight why we are observing increasing trends in young-onset colorectal cancer. Innovations in colonoscopy technology are progressing rapidly with increasing potential to revolutionize colonoscopy effectiveness.
