Where GI Techs Grow, Lead and Thrive

The GI Tech Catalyst Program is a leadership development program designed for graduates of the ASGE GI Endoscopy Training Program who are ready to grow beyond technical excellence. Building on the technical knowledge gained through ASGE's foundational education, the program helps GI technicians strengthen their leadership, communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills through interactive learning, hands-on experiences and professional development.

As demand for endoscopic services continues to grow, preparing skilled GI technicians to lead within their endoscopy units is essential to advancing quality patient care and strengthening the workforce. The GI Tech Catalyst Program equips participants to serve as mentors, expand their professional networks and contribute to the future of the GI profession.

Program Participants and Commitment

The GI Tech Catalyst Program is open to GI technicians who have successfully completed the ASGE GI Endoscopy Training Program and passed the certificate assessment. Participants are selected based on their commitment to high-quality patient care, teamwork, professional growth and their potential to positively impact their endoscopy units and the GI community.

Timeline

The program will require commitment of time and energy. The program consists of the GI Tech Catalyst Retreat, participation in the EndoQuest: Colonoscopy in the GI Unit course, and virtual educational sessions. The following activities are scheduled and attendance is expected for all components as part of the program experience.

ASGE will cover travel costs to attend the GI Catalyst Retreat in Downers Grove, IL in October 2026 and registration fees for the EndoQuest: Colonoscopy in the GI Unit course.

Nomination Process

Candidates are nominated by current ASGE members. Self-nominations are also accepted. We are looking for candidates who have the potential and desire to invest time, resources, and energy into developing their leadership skills. The program will require an investment from the individual, and support from their organization. The nomination form should be used to identify candidates for this program. An individual may nominate more than one candidate but, due to limited openings, a preference should be expressed (if there is one). The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, August 14, and invitation letters will be sent to the successful nominees by the end of August 2026.
