Small, peer-driven communities for Early Career and Mid-Career gastroenterologists to connect, share experiences, and grow together.

ASGE Mentorship Circles are small, peer-based groups designed to foster meaningful connection, professional growth, and shared learning among ASGE physician members.

Unlike traditional mentorship programs, Mentorship Circles are not lecture-based or centered around a single expert. Each circle brings together members with shared interests, career stages, or professional goals for candid discussion, peer support, networking, and accountability.

Circles may focus on topics such as early career success, leadership development, women in GI, academic advancement, private practice, research, innovation, wellness, or career transitions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a formal mentoring program?

No. Mentorship Circles are peer-driven, discussion-based communities rather than one-on-one mentor matching or lecture-based programs.

Who can participate?

Participation is intended for ASGE members. Each Mentorship Circle will determine their target audience.

Are circles virtual?

Most circles will be virtual, with optional in-person networking opportunities when feasible.

Can I propose a new circle?

Yes. ASGE members may submit ideas for new circles through the Circle Proposal Form.

Do facilitators need to be senior leaders?

No. Facilitators help guide discussion and create an engaging environment. The model is peer-to-peer, not expert-to-novice.
