The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives are out of session for the August recess but now is a good time to contact your members of Congress before the Fall legislative push. When lawmakers hear from their constituents, they return to Washington after recess with a better sense of what their constituents care about.

- A stable and predictable Medicare physician payment system requires legislative change. Lawmakers can support physicians by cosponsoring the Patients First Act.
- Prior authorization reform is close to the finish line but lawmakers still need to hear why they should pass the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act this year.
- Step therapy reform is needed so patients can access medications and biologics in a timely manner. The Safe Step Act establishes common-sense step therapy guardrails.
- Major changes to the federal grant making process have been proposed that will fundamentally change how research grants are awarded and managed. Congress can block this proposal.
