GIE, VideoGIE, and iGIE Reviewers’ Course and Resources

Reviewers are the backbone of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) family of journals. The following resources aim to enhance reviewers’ continued participation with Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (GIE), VideoGIE, and iGIE.

Reviewers’ Course for the ASGE publications family

In order to establish the processes and expectations for reviewers across the 3 journals, ASGE has created a short Reviewer Course to provide information on the general principles of peer review, ethical issues within reviewing, a guide for successful reviews, and more.

Please take a few minutes to work through this course and complete the linked quiz at the end.

Reviewer Mentorship Program

Each year, GIE’s Reviewer Mentorship Program pairs experienced reviewers with a new cohort of mentees to strengthen the growing community of scientific peer reviewers. Mentees are able to gain valuable skills and experience with the “learn-as-you-go” model, and mentors are able to impart insights, tips, and tricks to the next generation of reviewers.

This program runs from September of the current year to August of the following year. At that time, mentees may express interest in continuing the program for another year or move up to Clinical Reviewer status, completing reviews independently.

To express interest in participating in this program as a mentor or a mentee, please contact the Editorial Office at gie@asge.org for more information.
