Patients and consumers have many sources of information about colorectal cancer screening guidelines and tests – from their primary care physician to TV commercials, social media and news reports. Differing guidelines, frequently evolving tests and individual patient history can make it challenging to sort out when and how to be screened. This tool shows the appropriate tests for people based on age and other risk factors. This tool is based on the 2017 Multi-Society Task Force Recommendations, and includes a note about the 2018 American Cancer Society recommendation regarding the age at which to begin screening for those at average risk.
