Recently, ASGE conducted a listening session on key issues regarding the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Advance Notification program, which directly impacts reimbursement and administrative burden of practices. It is important to be aware of how this program could affect your practice. During this critical conversation, Colleen Schmitt MD, MASGE, and Joseph Vicari, MD, FASGE, moderated a discussion during which three ASGE members from varying-sized practices provided their perspectives on the factors that influenced their decisions on whether to participate in the program.
Addressing this issue will be a marathon, not a sprint, so there are a few things we ask of you and your teams on the front lines to support the GI societies’ advocacy on this issue.
- Review a recording of the session, which can be accessed through:
- Keep ASGE informed of your experiences and concerns about UHC’s Advance Notification program, using our open feedback mechanism
- Stay attuned to ASGE news alerts on this issue and notices about future listening sessions
We are stronger together. Thank you, again, for keeping ASGE informed of your experiences so the GI societies can continue to advocate effectively on this issue.
