Dr. Andy Tau is a gastroenterologist at Austin Gastroenterology and a nationally recognized leader in endoscopic hemostasis and advanced tissue closure. He has delivered over 100 invited lectures at institutions across the country and presented the keynote at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2025. He has served as Course Director for the Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy as well as many master classes, national leadership courses, and practice management programs for the ASGE and ACG.
An endoscopic innovator, Dr. Tau developed a device for rapid clot clearance in GI bleeding that achieved FDA approval, improved hemostatic powder efficacy through a novel modification, and pioneered endoscopic vacuum therapy in Austin. His hobby is to develop and teach endoscopic techniques nationally.
