The program is open to physicians, nurses, practice managers, practice professionals and all members of the GI team involved with the business operations and management of a GI medical practice.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Attend at least three ASGE Practice Management Courses within a 24-month period.
  • Practice Management 101:  GI Practice Management Essentials
  • Practice Management 201:  Looking at GI Practice Management Differently 
  • Improving Quality and Safety in Your Endoscopy Unit 
  • GI Endoscopy Unit Leadership: Cultivating a Successful Team 
  • GI Outlook:  The Practice Management Conference 
  • Reimbursement and Coding Update 
  • GI Coding and Billing:  Auditing and Documentation Best Practices 
  1. Attest to having read the ASGE Guidelines for Safety in the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit and watch the webinar on the guideline
      
  2. Be an ASGE member or join ASGE at the time of application.

The application fee is $250

How to Apply to the PRP

  1. Download and complete the application form. 
  2.  Provide attendance of at least three ASGE Practice Management courses with dates within a 24-month period.
  3. Mail the completed application along with the supporting documentation and application fee.

Why should I apply to the ASGE Excellence in GI Practice Operations Recognition Program?

As a PRP Honoree, you will not only be recognized for demonstrating excellence in GI practice operations, but will also gain knowledge and skills to enhance your role in your GI unit. Through ASGE Practical Solutions in GI Practice Management programming, you will find a broad range of offerings to choose from to meet program requirements and to enhance your professional development in GI practice operations. Do I have to become an ASGE Member?

Yes, ASGE membership is required for this recognition. For more information about ASGE membership, please visit Join ASGE.

How long is the recognition?

The ASGE Excellence in GI Practice Operations Recognition Program is a two-year Recognition. You may re-apply to the program to continue your recognition prior to your expiration date.

Can a physician apply to the PRP?

Yes.

Are continuing medical education credits given for courses required in the PRP?

Yes, continuing medical education credits are given to physicians, nurses, practice administrators and coders commensurate with the profession and the course. Please refer to the course descriptions to determine the type and amount of credits given

How can I promote my recognition and use the logo?

ASGE will provide you with some tools to promote your recognition. You will receive an acknowledgement letter, certificate, the PRP logo to and a letter for your Medical Director/Governing Board announcing your recognition in the PRP.

If I leave my current unit, does my recognition in the program stay with me?

Yes, the PRP is an individual recognition and is not connected to the unit. If you leave a unit, your recognition in the PRP follows you until it expires.
