CMS Finalizes CY 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS)

On October 31, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the CY 2026 PFS Final Rule, effective January 1, 2026. Early review indicates that gastroenterology and other procedural specialties will experience net payment reductions due to new efficiency and practice expense adjustments, despite modest conversion factor increases.

As part of the Tri-Society collaboration, ASGE is conducting a detailed review of the final policies and their impact on gastroenterology—including coding, valuation, practice expense, telehealth and quality/reporting.
