ASC Covered Procedures List Expansion

February 19, 2026

As a reminder, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) expanded the Ambulatory Surgery Center Covered Procedures List (ASC-CPL) for CY2026 to include GI motility and functional testing procedures, reflecting ongoing efforts to align the list with services that can be safely and effectively performed in the ASC setting. The tri-society team (AGA, ACG, and ASGE) has long advocated for the inclusion of GI diagnostic testing codes (91010–91125) on the ASC-CPL to promote appropriate patient access and site-of-service flexibility. This update is effective January 1, 2026, as finalized in the CY2026 ASC payment system rule.
