Two members of ASGE’s CRC Screening Project Advisory Council – Jennifer Christie, MD, MASGE, and Tonya Adams, MD [pictured] – participated in Fight CRC’s ‘Call-On Congress’ events in Washington, DC on March 1-3. In addition to educating congressional leaders about the need to increase CRC screening and completion colonoscopy rates, they urged lawmakers to establish a $20 million CRC research program within the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP). The CRC rate for young Americans has increased dramatically over the past two decades – and CRC is now the leading cancer killer for Americans under 50.
