Biography

David H. Bruining, MD, FASGE, received his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 2001. He then completed an internal medicine and chief residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Bruining trained as a gastroenterology fellow at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota (2005-2008) before he joined the Mayo Clinic staff. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Section Head for the IBD Interest Group. Dr. Bruining also serves as Director for the GI Bleed endoscopy service. His research focus is on advanced IBD small-bowel imaging and diagnostic modalities.
