Francis A. Farraye, MD, MSc, FASGE, is the director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida, and a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
Dr. Farraye has an active clinical practice, and his research is examining several aspects of the diagnosis and management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). A frequent speaker and invited lecturer on topics related to the diagnosis and management of IBD, Dr. Farraye has also authored or co-authored more than 500 original scientific manuscripts, reviews, book chapters, and abstracts and is the co-editor of several books on IBD. His newest book for patients, Mayo Clinic on Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis: Strategies to Manage IBD and Take Charge of Your Life, was published in 2022.
Dr. Farraye is a master of the American College of Gastroenterology and a fellow in the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. He has served on numerous national and international committees.
