  • Assembling an ADR Improvement Toolkit for Your Practice
During this presentation Aasma Shaukat, MD, MPH, FASGE presents how to assemble an adenoma detection rate (ADR) improvement toolkit for your practice. ADR is a validated quality indicator and a reportable quality metric for CMS. Multiple studies have found that low ADRs are associated with higher risk of interval colorectal cancer. ADR benchmarks set by the US multi-society task force are 30% for men and 20% for women undergoing screening colonoscopy. Douglas Rex, MD, MASGE, joins Dr. Shaukat during the Q&A session at the close of the presentation. Watch the webinar.

  • Improving Bowel Preparation
Cleansing quality is a critical factor in determining the ease, speed, quality, and completeness of the colonoscopy exam. Achieving better visualization of the entire mucosal surface leads to better outcomes for patients and the healthcare team and decreases the need to reschedule procedures due to poor preparations.

Through this presentation, Audrey Calderwood, MD, MS, FASGE takes you and your team through the latest evidence relative to improving bowel preparation. She translates this into practical advice for your daily practice. Dr. Calderwood’s presentation is not only informative, as she has a talent for emphasizing key takeaways through gentle humor, making for enjoyable viewing as an individual or team exercise. Get Recognized for Your Commitment to Quality & Safety

Training the healthcare workforce on translating quality and safety concepts into practice offers a concrete solution to every healthcare leader’s problem of reducing variability in care delivery. To be sure, there is a significant return on investment on creating a Culture of Quality.

To support you and your team in identifying and prioritizing your focus areas as you boost your quality improvement efforts, ASGE created the Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program (EURP). Hundreds of units across the United States from the diverse care settings in which GI endoscopy is performed have benefited from the program’s foundational purpose of educating teams on translating quality concepts into the day-to-day practice of a GI endoscopy unit.

When you are ready to bring your team together to assess and strengthen organizational and individual healthcare quality competencies, we invite you to review the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program.

The value of honoree status in the Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program continues to grow and includes the following.

  • The ASGE Quality Star logo is a powerful marketing tool to engage patients on your dedication to quality and safety.

  • The program fosters a team approach to quality and safety.

  • The program is recognized by CMS as fulfilling a medium-weighted activity in the Improvement Activities performance category of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), allowing the eligible clinicians in your unit to earn valuable points in MIPS reporting.

Direct your questions about the program to EURP@asge.org. We look forward to engaging in the quality dialogue with you!
